Rolex Air-King ref. 5500

CONDITION REPORT
The Rolex Air-King has been in production from 1940, the specific reference 5500 was introduced in 1957 and lasted for an unbelievable 37 years in the Rolex collection. The serial number of the this watch dates it back to 1973. The sunburst silver dial gives a clean look to it, the hands and lume dots are still in good condition. The watch houses a cal 1520 automatic movement. The stainless steel casing has been polished in the past but still looks good. The watch has its original Rolex signed crown. You’ll notice that the casebook says ‘1002’ actually Rolex used the ‘1002’ caseback a just about any 34mm Oyster case., so this is quite normal for the time frame. It has been serviced and checked by our watchmaker for correct accuracy and correct functioning.
